The Mod Quad

The Mod Quad is a little board with a lot of drive.  Surprisingly, it is a great all around board proving to work well in small as well as large surf.  The tail rocker is the flattest in our lineup, which combined with our four fin set up give this board a lot of drive. It's our twist on a quad shortboard.

The Automatic is what most of the team rides and is the most popular shortboard model in the lineup.  The key design feature is the precise placement of a deep single concave matched to a curvy bottom rocker.  This combination means that while planing the rocker between the feet is relatively flat (fast), and when the board is turning it utilizes the curvy (looser) rocker along the rail.  The deep concave also forms a positive rail angle that grips the wave, allowing hold during hard carving turns. Catch a wave and the rest is AUTOMATIC!

The Blurr

The Blurr model likes quick snaps and going fins out in punchy small waves.  The surface area in the outline is brought back compared to The Automatic (narrower nose and wider tail).  There is more flip in the tail rocker behind the back foot and the entry rocker curve is brought back toward the front foot, allowing the board to fit turns in easily into steep sections.

Big Tex

Big Tex is our easy rider, designed to fill the gap between The Secret Weapon and The Silverback.  It's a favorite for beginners who are learning at beachbreaks.  More width in the outline compared to The Silverback adds to its stability and buoyancy for wave catching. The Rocker is the same as that of the silverback, which also makes this board a good choice for bigger or "mature" surfers who still want to live the dream riding a shortboard before the inevitable happens of riding a log at Sano!

The Silverback

Dominate your lineup on this high performance big man board.  The Silverback is a scaled up version of The Automatic with slight changes made to meet the buoyancy needs of bigger surfers.  By adding surface area and volume to key areas along the design, we have been able to create a high performance big board that big guys can paddle well.  Watch our big man research team Stretch (6'8", 235lb) and Big Craig (6'6", 285lb) surf like they weigh 100lbs less in the video below.

5F

The 5F is a "fish"-style board that is designed to have drive in small to medium sized mushy surf. This smooth riding board carves as well as it planes and makes those small mushy days worth going out. Watch Brian Pacheco and shaper Dan Boehne surf the 5F in the movie on this page.

Ariifa Gun

The Ariifa gun was featured in Transworld Surf Magazine's Surfboard Science.  It is designed to handle big, powerful, hollow surf.  The combination of 10 years of design research by Teahupoo local Ariifa "Warren" Smidt and first hand experience from the shaper Dan Boehne have turned out a design that will hold in the heaviest of situations and still turn like a shortboard in solid surf.  Former WCT Teahupoo trials winner Heimata Carroll won the Taapuna Masters on this design.

Steve Boehne and Pat Rawson were headliners in the shortboard revolution, creating the designs that many shapers are influenced by today.  Steve worked closely with world champ Shaun Thompson and Pat with guys like Buttons and Larry Bertlemann.  These are not knock off's of retro boards made in the 70's, but authentic replications made by the masters themselves, using original templates. We offer these finely crafted boards in standard foam as well as co-friendly "biofoam" and bamboo fins. We make them in twin and quad set ups. Fast, skatey, and a crap load of fun!
